An officer found a grey Rover 216 in a ditch on the A165 at around 05:45 on Wednesday. But it was not until 09:20 that a member of the public reported seeing a dead body behind a hedge near the car.
It is also know that:
- Two men were seen running from the crashed Rover.
- The officer found a car in the ditch but no one was in the car.
- Forensic examinations of the Rover have revealed that the driver may have suffered an injury that required medical treatment.
- The Rover was registered to Mark Oshea, age 33.
- Mark has been out of the country for 2 weeks.
- The body was identified as 21-year-old Dennis Curran.
- Mr. Oshea had not leant the vehicle to anyone when he left the country.
The victim died as a result of the crash.
