Hey i actually just failed the ECI interview with Durham..... :( Have to waite 3 months to try again. The september intake is out....
hay bridget pie. no worries i failed the ECI with York last month, and i am pretty much sure why i did. I over thought a question a very simple question, and tryed to do to much with it. All you can do is learn from the interview and be ready next time. (OPP and TPS) are still open for you in the meantime. Oh and take the toronto mentoring session it will help you prepare for your next ECI
good luck!!!
Another girly here....wrote the rcmp exam 3 weeks ago just waiting for my mark... :P

Girl here too!!! Out near Calgary area--anyone else??? How different is it out east compared to Alberta??
Just an update for the girls....I received an offer from TPS. Off to OPC in Sept.
As compared to out west not really sure if it's any different here. My whole process from dropping off my application to TPS and receiving my offer was about 5 weeks. Pretty quick. VERY thankful for that!

It would be interesting to see what the difference is from here to out there!
Awesome...5 weeks! Although where I am from the police services are sooo much smaller and do not hire like TPS!

another female here...I too have applied to the OPP. They are just starting my background check. I wish I knew if they were looking for Sept or Jan intake.
Does anyone know if they tell you where you will be working when they hire you or do you wait until after OPC?

Hi mar, good luck to you.
I'm almost done my background check... just waiting for the home visit.
My understanding is that they tell you where you're going before OPC - but I have heard of an instance where they've actually told people where they were going, and then changed it mid-way through OPC (moved a bunch to the new highway safety division). Whether that happens a lot, I don't know. The guy I know that got hired for the May OPC intake was told his posting when he signed his contract.
Hope that helps!

I am almost positive with the OPP that you will know where you are going to be working before OPC :)

Hey Teeps...do you know if you will be going to the sept intake or are they looking at January?
Good luck to you as well!

Not sure! They're not moving too fast on my file. I have a buddy who submitted his application a month ago, and is scheduled to have his home visit this week!! :D (good for him, but I'm jealous).
I know my BGI is wrapping up very soon, I just don't know how long it is from end of BGI to final review board to offer.
Not the end of the world if I don't make it to OPC in Sept, I have a good-paying, steady job until I go, so I'm lucky.

The wait is a lot easier when you already have a decent job eh?
It's a lot easier looking for a job when you already have one.
Good Luck

I have yet to write the test but I'm also in a steady, good paying job but it's driving me crazy! I know the best thing to do is stick it out until the process is over with getting on a force. Tough though, some days I just want to quit and get a job as a bartender somewhere.
I also am female and just starting the background phase with OPP. I am thinking the same thing Sept. or Jan.????? Let us know when you hear something mar23. I am still waiting to hear from my BGI, have you heard from yours yet?

Hey Nicole,
I'll also be re-doing my pati on Aug 12 in Thornhill. I passed WCT but failed the other 2 so i'm just re-doing my test's one at a time so that I can focus on each of them. Math has been a real challenge for me.
I feel like I have so many steps to go.
Anyways best of luck,
J
Hey Orbit,
I know how you feel. It feels like I have been in this process forever, yet I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I made the mistake of telling my friends and family over a year ago about my pursuit of this dream. Now, I never hear the end of it. \"So, how's it commimg along\", \"how much longer\", \"What stage are you at now\"!!!! It is very frustrating, when you feel that you are at a standstill. Here's hopeing that we all pass this blasted Pati ( bain of our existance)!!!!! :?

Hey Nicole,
I feel like i'm in the exact situation that you are in. I've told people about my dream and they're constantly asking me how its going. Its also been a year so I feel like this process has been dragging...and this is just the beginning stage. I just hope that this test goes well. Do you have any idea where you want to apply once your sucessful? I'm thinking TPS, York and then OPP, in that order.

Orbit,
I plan to apply to TPS and then after I have a few years under my belt, I will most likely move up to York Region.

Hey Care,
Sorry, I haven't been on here for a few days. I have heard from my BGI. He's been interviewing my friends and employers last week and this week. I have my home interview scheduled for Aug 11. It's frustrating not knowing which intake b/c I'd love to take a few weeks off between jobs and August would have been perfect!
Good luck with yours...hope you've heard from them!

Ladies,
If you have a test date in early August and can pass them, you're chances of going to OPC in September are very high. TPS is desparately seeking females. This was told to us at a TPS mentoring session on Monday night.
Good Luck!
(No I'm not a female)
Hey
