Well did the CAAT & APCAT for CPS on the 19th.

Unofficially been told that I passed the CAAT but will have to wait for 4-5 weeks for a result on the APCAT and official confirmation on the CAAT.

I have got to say that the CAAT is nothing like the one on this site. It is far more difficult. It is the level D test if that means anything to anybody. The CAAT tests on this are of very little help. In fact I would go as far to say that they lull you into a false sense of security.

My scores on the mock CAAT ranged from 93 to 101. On the basis of these scores I did nearly no further revision. Big mistake. You need to know where and when to use comma's, semi colons and colons. Spelling strong and weak sentences and some words that I never knew existed. Such as specious.

One of the questions required you to fill in the blank choosing from four options. The options where:

Artic Waters
artic waters
artic Waters
Artic Water's

Yeh, not exactly the examples depicted on this site.

On the plus side the APCAT was a very accurate representation of the real exam. In fact I would be as bold to say that the real exam is easier. But I'll confirm that when I get my results.

Just to confirm as well. You no longer write the WCT for CPS. They just haven't got round to updating their website yet.

Hope this helps somebody.

Nigel.

I have just been contacted by CPS and been told that I have passed the CAAT and APCAT exams which I took in London on 13/10/06. I have to agree with PANMAN that the CAAT was much harder than the practise tests and the APCAT was slightly easier.
That said, it was invaluable to have practised the tests before the exam, if only to give yourself and insight to the exams and inspire confidence in your ability.
Now its just a matter of waiting for the visit to Calgary to complete the other elements of selection, which is planned for January.
If anyone has any tips or guidance about the other stages then I would be very grateful.
Cheers
