I was just wondering about my PARE time,
For a 23 year old male. 180 Lbs with a time of 3:31.. is that a decent time, I did a lot of reading and I don?t see much on PARE times.. ??
Does the recruitment center look at this PARE time ..
Thanks
Will

that's totally fine, you don't want to go nuts on the PARE when you do it for if you get in you'll have to show improvement (from what I've heard) and beat that time.
really anything under 4 is doing good since 4:45 is the max time.
Hi guys - Just joined myself.
I was just wondering about physical aspects: Does the RCMP look at all at how big/heavy you are? I'm a bit of a light weight...

Hi there, no where have I seen a set height and weight they are looking for. I think the best thing they want to see is how you perform and to continuously show improvement.
The biggest concern I imagine for you now would be to ensure you get to the gym and start preparing for the PARE. Review the RCMP's website for notes on what you have to do (main areas could be the push and pulling of the 80 pound weight). Also try to get in and do a test run to see how your body holds up.
Another thing to look at is the cadet info they have on the site. It has some specifics on what they are going to measure you on when you are at depot. With this info just get into a good program and work on them.
So a long story short it shouldn't matter, just continue to make yourself better and they'll see that and hopefully have no problems with it.
Thanks for the response. I did go to the gym yesterday - my brother's girlfriend is a personal trainer, so I'm lucky there. I don't see any problem with performing above average - I was just a bit concerned, because I read somewhere that in the 1970's they were mainly looking for people around 200 lbs.
Are you going to the depot yet?

Not yet, have my polygraph next Monday.
Since the 70's I imagine it has really changed. If that's what your concern was about I doubt you have anything to worry about. Good luck.

Keep us posted on how you make out Johnny on the Polygraph!!
For the poly do they ask you all 170 questions from that book ? or just select some from them ??

Considering they told me the process takes 4 hours I would assume everything.
Initially you can fess up to anything that could come out and then you review the questionnaire with them before starting (making any changes along the way). Once it starts you will have no new questions that you didn't review.

You and the poly adm go over every question in the questionnaire as well as some of your interview questions. Then at the end you are hooked to the poly for about 30 minutes to verify any concerns the examiner has.
Hi by the way. Names Mike, I write my exam on Feb 19 and just talked to the recruiter yesterday and she explained the polygraph very well.
