For the following question:

No X is Y.
Some T are not X.

a) Some X are not T.
b) Some Y are X.
c) Some T are X.
d) None of the above.

The answer reported is c). However, I believe it's d). It seems that they
are making the conclusion based on the second statement.

Any explanation?

If I make the statement "Some apples are not purple" is it correct to make
the conclusion "Some apples are purple"?

Thanks,
Raj

I would have chosen "d" None of the above.
Maybe the answer is wrong.
People have mentioned that there are some mistakes in the Answer Review for some of these tests.

I would choose "C", too. How is this statement not true?

That question has no valid conclusion. The correct answer is D. See my explanation of syllogisms covers this question.

Check figure 1, E-O statements. They yeild no conclusion.

I realize that my explanation looks confusing but if you study it you'll see that it's really quite simple and...logical :) And it works EVERY time. Since we're dealing with logic here, ALL syllogisms conform to these rules.
