When I went to do my PARE test last week there were several people there doing the test for the second time. Its not that they failed the first time, but they were required to do the test again.

Is anyone here aware of the need to take the PARE twice as part of the hiring process for any other reason then the initial results expiring?

Assuming you are successful through the interviews, poly, etc, you'll have to do another PARE before they sign off for you to go to Depot.

thanks. Thats what it seemed like, probably not a bad idea anyway since it has to be done shortly after getting there.

You must do one last PARE before going to Depot. They don't want to fly you there to have you fail the PARE the first week and on the next flight home.

your pare certificate expires after 6 months so depending on how long your application is you could be doing it a few times (most likely only twice though)

they will let you know if you have to do it again, I assume if it hasn't expired and you get in (that would be pretty quick to see happen) then most likely only once is required.

I was told before my medical to schedule another run and at the medical to obtain the doctors form saying I am fit to do it.

ok, thanks. Ya, it does seem like it would be pretty quick eh. I wrote my Rpab feb 3, did pare march 23rd, and now they are done the BGI!! Its been going so fast for me....looks like if i do get in...i wont have to do the pare again.

Everyone does the PARE twice before going to Depot.

now im a little confused. why is the certificate valid for 6 months, if you have to do the pare twice before going to depot? when i go to depot, it wont even be close to 6 months since ive done my first pare....

don't go by what we say. phone up the person handling your file, they will tell you what has to be done.

I talked to the person who is in charge of my BGI today. She said I wont have to do the pare again. I did my pare on march 23, and if i get in it will be this month. So, here in D division at least, you only have to do the pare 1x, unless your certificate has expired.

Please, don't post information about something your not sure of. Or at least say where you got your information from. Like Johnny said though, look into it yourselves if your not sure.

They now request applicants to do the PARE just before going to Depot. They dont want to fly you to Regina(Depot) and send you home within the first week. Fail it at Depot you go home. They are just making sure you can still pass the PARE before they spend the money to fly you to Depot. Your first PARE is valid for 6 months, the hiring process usually takes longer.

Yeah that totally makes sense. It's hard to believe though that some get kicked at this point, I just wouldn't believe it unless I saw it happen. I can understand an injury or something but if you're not in shape when you get there you deserve to go.

It's 2% get sent home in the first week from failing the PARE.

Yes, IF its been over 6 months...however, i will be going to depot before that. In fact, my whole application process as a whole will take less then 6 months. So, i wont have to do the pare before going to depot.

Also, 10% of cadets dont make it through depot.
