Yeah thats great! Do you go to Newmarket or to Cornwall? I am thinking the south is behind a little that is why I have not been contacted unless they are doing certain areas first.
Did you have any further additions or are you all set? Let me know how it goes and good luck!

I'm pretty much set to go..trying not to over think things, and just show up confident. I have to be in Orleans for 8am wednesday morning.

For sure, the polygraphist most likely will only ask you approx. 10 questions in total based on all 162 minus the qs. pertaining to militiaty and previous police experience. The longest part of the interview will be the reiterating of your (Pre-Poly Pamphlet) and then the warm up questions such as picking a card out of a deck of 10 and he/she asking randomly if you have a card he has in mind. You have to say no to all 10 or however many cards are given. Then he/she tells you what card you have by initializing your responses. After that your good to go with your responses. :)

Where are you in the process? Most likely wherever you did your RMSI.

I haven't even done my interview yet! Still waiting for the call...I was told probably first or second week of February.
Do you think its a bad idea to drink coffee before your poly? I've got mine at 7:30 am.... sure wouldn't mind a wake up.
....Transit, you get your results yet?

I'm sure that I will have at least 2 coffee in me by my polygraph interview, which begins at 8am tomorrow morning. However, this is pretty much part of my regular routine.
I think I'm going to avoid the coffee!! The more relaxed I am the better, I get nervous when getting my blood pressure taken, so I can only imagine what I'll be like when they hook me up to a computer!!:)
...all the same, can't wait to see that card trick!!
Good luck tomorrow!

..just finished polygraph this morning...quite an experience...now, sit and wait.
Yea, it was pretty straightforwad wasn't it? I had expected some trickery of some sort, or suprises.... but nothing at all.
I was told I'd get my results in two weeks, pretty sure its gonna be good news.... nice to get that stage out of the way, nice jumping another hurdle.

I found the whole experience very interesting. The polygrapher was a good guy. I felt relaxed, and spilled my guts. Of course, I'm very anxious to get my results..hoping to move to the background investigation. Yes, I will be upset if this is the end of the road.

Did you have to sign a security form? How many questions were you asked? How long were you in the chair? Were the questions open ended? These are some of the answers I would like to know. And now you have to wait 4-6 for your results and so will I.

Sorry to take so long in getting back to you...I did'nt know what to tell you about the whole thing..many questions..some very personal..3 hrs. 45 min. in total..30 minutes of which hooked up to the polygraph..narrowed down to 10-12 questions which you were asked repeatedly 3 consecutive times. These guys are good..

According to recruiting it will take 4-6 for the results.

Difference in poly's there. Springer's follies would be more into the interegation (criminal) aspect of the poly. Where we are verifying previous answers that we typically already know we will be asked, without the trick questions that a criminal would expect.
So some very personal, that is not unusual with everything being considered. I suppose the other Q's were very open ended and basically a overhaul of the PEP questionnaire hey?
I read from other applicants they felt they were crimminals after the interview. I guess I will be feeling quite the same. Should be an adventure and I see it as just another important step but not more important than the others. When I spoke to a recruiter last week they said that 50% fail at this step, however, I anticipate passing this step. ......... take care
I had heard you'd feel like a criminal after leaving also.... but it was nothing like that, not even close.... unless you are going in there with nothing but lies, or are super sensitive.
You know what to expect, they're going to go thru the PEP and then hook you up to a computer and ask you 12 or so questions. You answer them, and then you go home. If you're going in to lie, you'll likely fail, if you'll be honest then you have nothing to worry about at all.

Did you include anything new at the poly interview or were you fully prepared beforehand? I am anticipating a Depot date of at least 08/08. Your in "B" div. and your wait for results will likely be a lot shorter than mine. They are recruiting 74 from the rock this year therefore a much shorter wait fopr your results I suspect. I am in "O" div. calling for 4-6 weeks for the Poly results. As for my BGI I have lived in three provinces at differing addresses so I suspect my background maybe at least three to four months in duration..........happy camping............
I added some new things to my PEP during the poly... of course this was done before I was hooked up, some I had remembered before I went in, and some I remembered as I was being asked the questions again....
I was told it would be 2wks to get my poly results..... my BGI is going to take a while too, cause I've lived and worked in several provinces, the USA, and a few Asian countries.... no idea how they are going to track down people there.
I was told it may be possible for me to see the Depot in April if all goes well....

I was told here by central recruiting that all should be disclosed prior to the Poly so I made sure everything is inclusive for my date. I guess that is why I am a litle apprehensive as I do not want to be adding something on that day.
But if they let you do it it is reassuring if something minute peeks for me. I guesss they understand that new information can be applied as a result f the wait for the poly as well... I was pretty accurate with the two week wait on your end hey for "B" div. I am from the rock as well (west coast)(NL) working in Ontario and was kind of wishing along the way that I could have been home for my process due to the shorter time line, however, not posible as a result of me working here.
Actually, the BGI question came up about how long it would take and recruiting said that they do backgrounfd checks on people all around the world in very short periods and as a result mentioned that mine should be relatively short dispite the heres and theres of my past. I guess yours would be left to the liason associates in foreign countries.
I guess what they meant by everything being disclosed prior to your poly means that you should have nothing to hide by the time you are actually hooked up to the machine...
When you go in there on the day of your poly you have to sit down and go over the PEP with them again, and you are not hooked up to the machine at this time.... so this is the time to disclose anything you never included in your original package... when you are done the PEP again they select a # of questions to ask, then hook you up....
Blake... you get your Poly results yet? I did mine on Jan 9th just like you, I'm still waiting on results and was told yesterday I'd be waiting at least another 3 wks... its killing me!

Congratulations man! The scary stuff is all behind you. Now you just have to get ready for the REAL wait. I see you're being realistic about the troop date. That's good. I really hate to see people being too optimistic about the length of the process after the Polygraph. It happened to me too. I was one of those people who believed that the BGI would only take a couple of months, and here I am 7 months later. Still waiting. Although I really do hope that it goes a lot faster for the rest of you guys.
Good luck!

Yeah for sure, I was told that I am looking at a September start if the remaining is all good, however, anticipating longer as there could possilbly be some delays with vacations and so forth as a result of the summer. I take it your file has been sent to Regina for the final review, again congrats. In theory I presume that is where the final review is completed. In any event congratulations and I envy you as you are really close. Like yourself I will continue to look forward for the call and a troop number.
Good luck!!!!
Well I finally got my poly results, everything went well.... moving onto the background check, they said it should start next week.... I've got the feeling that the 2 months waiting for poly results is going to seem like seconds compared to my background check....
When are you required to run the PARE again? Is that pretty much right before you head off to Depot?

You have to run the 2nd PARE before the first one expires, which is 6 months from the day you ran it.

Congrats! Now you can throw out the Poly sweat drenched waiting pillow and start using the BGI pillow lol ..kidding. Basically, at the time of my Poly results 2008/02/19 and the date I was given as a possible Depot date surpassed the validation of a PARE certificate of 6 months. I was told by a gentleman at central recruiting to wait until I hear back from him before completing Pare2 as to ensure it does not expire pending the remaining stages of the process. I would be proactive and contact your recruiting office to ensure how long you should wait prior to completing Pare2. Here in "O" Div. the waiting for the remaining stages are approx. 6 months ,however, in "B" where you are could be much shorter. That could be a reason why the recruiter did not mention this to you.... let me know how it goes!!!!!!!!!!
I've got my 2nd PARE scheduled for the 27th, along with my medical.... was in there today to write my psych exam. Also did my vision and audiogram test, came as close to you could come to failing the audio test...if I had to do even the tiniest bit worse I would have failed...really brought to reality how hard every single step is, and how you shouldn't be counting your chickens until they hatch!! I never thought for a second that I'd do poorly on the hearing test, I always thought my hearing was fine.....
Worried sick about the 2nd PARE.... a knee injury a couple of months ago, combined with a hard winter has really taken a bite into my training regiment..... hope I can equal my last time.....

My steps have stalled a little as of late. I have read that this is where the waiting really starts for some; obviously out of anticipation to move further quicker. My tentative start date for Depot is 2008/09 so I can expect things to begin developing soon. I am awaiting my medical and Psych; BGI starting mid April. If the BGI is great I will undergo PARE2 most likely in August. I am not worried at all about the PARE2. I am 35 and always been in good physical condition (knock on wood) lol. I anticipate enduring the physicality demanded by depot when I get there so this next PARE will only be another stepping stone. Good luck on your PARE.. Keep in touch let me know how it goes!!!!
