Hi folks, I'm due to write the PATI and PREP with ATS on the 26th of January

I have a few questions though...

first off, I have done each practice exam on the site 3 times...( I only registered with ATS on the 11th of Jan)

at first I was averaging 70%-75%, by the time I was finished the third lap I was averaging 88%-91%

that seems all fine and dandy, but what has happend is that I have memorized all the answers to the pattern and matching questions.. I still force myself to actually pick out the differences or similarities before I click the answer but even that is getting repetitive.

my question is.. am I good to go? I would like to think that the PATI questions on this site are harder than the actual test.. can anybody shed some light without breaching any borders( to much info etc)

was anybody in the same boat as me and did you pass?

my next question is regarding the actual test time on the site.. it gives you 90 minutes but on the ATS website it gives you 105 minutes..which one is true?

oh ans while I'm here, how long does the WCT answer have to be, right now im getting all the details into a 2 paragraph report.... my way of thinking is quality over quantity

sorry I have another question( oops) when you write the report should you format it just like the answers on the site with regards to thetable that says the time, location, victim etc?

thanks for the replys in advance and its good to see so much positive support and mentoring....

I'm not sure if this will help but here goes...
I was averaging about 85% on the tests on Police Prep and I was still having trouble with things like the mapping. When I did the test I found that I was really prepared for it, so much so that I had 35 minutes left over to go over the whole thing again. The test is 90 minutes long.
As far as the WCT goes, I can tell you this, be prepared to write a lot more than two paragraphs!!! The instructions they give you will explain what you need to do. I think when I was done I had 4 pages to hand in and I think you only get 1 hour and I used every minute of it. Just continue to practice the WCT on the site and you will get used to the format and you should be fine. Remember spelling and grammar are just as important as your facts and your ability to put them down in a logical order.
I am re certifying my PREP on the 26th also so maybe I'll see you there.
Good luck.

Hi thanks for the advice, I feel better about it already but I wont be celebrating until I pass though...

I have done all of the WCT preps on this site and I just dont understand how you can turn a paragraph into 4 pages with out adding BS or assumptions....I guess I will worry about that when im writing the test because right now all I can worry about is getting my ducks in a row( info and points)

gotta force myself to use smaller words unless im 100% sure I have them spelled properly and in the correct context

I doubt you will see me at the test unless your writing it in Thunder Bay( did I just admit I'm from Thunder Bay? I think I did LOL)

I saw your other post and I was interested in the number of people that you saw taking the test in Thunder Bay. I did my PREP re-cert today in London and there had to be a few hundred people there testing. Half were doing their PREP and the other half were dong the PATI/WCT. I am just amazed at the number of people trying to get into this profession. I was amazed at the failure rate from stage one to stage two as well. It seems 75% is about right. And then the when you get into the interview stage the failure rate is about the same or more so after the ECI. So if everyone is failing everything, who is getting hired?
