Hey everyone, I got a call at the beginning of the week from Durham regional asking me for an interview with them at their office. The lady i spoke with told me what documents i needed bring and said i would be there for 3 hrs. NOW im really nervous b/c she didnt mention if it was the ECI or if its just the LFI makes a big difference since ive only had 2 days to prepare.. so im just wonderin if anyone could give me any insight that would be great...! thanks
I keep hearing you guys talking about these 2 interviews, what are the difference the two? I just do not get it!
Off course it is LFI. It is the first interview with most police services.
By the way how long did it take for the interview call after you were asked to go to do those paperwork's?
LCI- Local focus
ECI- Essential comps.
What is the difference between the two interviews?
The difference between the two interviews is that the LFI is an interview that generally larger forces use to help them screen potential candidates. Its an interview designed to test your knowledge about the force to which your applying too. They ask questions regarding the size, population at which they police, structural design of the force, whos the chief, what units they offer, things like that. They want to see that you have done your homework on their force. The ECI is the essential Competencies Interview. This is where the candidate must illustrate, through situational based answers, that they posses the qualification the force is looking for. Some include, Communication skills, Flexibility, Self-confident, analyical thinking and so on. This interview can take anywhere from 2-4 hrs depending on the force.
