Anyone do a Co-op program with TPS or any other police services?

Is anyone here an auxilary officer or a support worker?

I would like to know what the experience is like.
I currently registered in a co-op program with TPS (52 division) and would like to know how beneficial it is since it's full time and unpaid working experience.

Since I have no other seriouse work experience around law, i would appreciate it if anyone can give me a recommendation to continue the co-op or that i should look into some post-secondary education - i am 21 years old.

Thanks in advance.

I've been an Auxiliary PC with York for over a year now and have enjoyed every single minute of it thus far. I've worked approx. 300 hours in both community events and ride-alongs since last August and not because I have to but because I love it so much. If policing is something you want to do down the road, then I strongly recommend you apply to become an Aux. officer first. You will get to experience first hand what the job of a police officer entails and be able to judge if this is something for you.

Good luck :)
