polygraph...anyone know?

hey just wondering if anyone knows if Toronto or Ottawa polices services currently use polygraph testing as part of the selection process...nothing to hide here...just curious :)....I know that out west they use it...just wanted to see if it were the same here in the east.

Toronto or Ottawa do not use polygraph testing during it's process. To the best of my knowledge no Ontario Forces do this.

I also have never heard of any forces in ONT using polygraph. They all follow the OACP hiring process (with ATS) and poly is NOT a part of that. I believe that several forces in the west use it. Edmonton, and Calgary, if I'm not mistaken...or maybe Vancouver. I can't remember.

Yes, almost all the police departments thoroughout Canada and USA use polygraph in their recruiting process. Police departments in West like, Vancouver, Saanich, Victoria definitely use polygraph. As far as I know, using polygraph is unlawful in Ontario. This could be the reason why police forces do not use polygraph.
