Can anyone give me some information about whether being rejected by one force will impact upon my application with another? I recently had one application turned down and am concerned in case it affects my application with the other force. I actually applied to the force where my application is still being processed first so they didn't know about the other one anyway. I've passed all the interviews and am now at the background check stage (further than I got with the other) but just wanted a bit of advice. Thanks

If you had an LFI or ECI and failed the LFI and or ECI - then you need to wait (3) months before you can move to another force or re-apply to that force to re-complete the failed stage. If all you did was simply apply to the force and never been contacted for an interview - then you are good to move to any force you want.

Thanks...............

It happens and depends on the police departments you are applying for. If you've been deferred on a reason on which you cannot improve in a short period of time, most likely other police departments will say the same thing.

I am also an applicant with 2 different police forces. I was deferred with one force (Force #1) for various reasons- they wanted me to gain more experience in specific areas of my application. I talked to the other police force (Force #2) about it. We chatted about my reasons for deferral with Force #1- but when it came down to it, they could have cared less about my reasons for deferral. They did not think that the extra experience was at all necessary in my case.

In my experience with the recruitment process (I'm now at the BGI stage with Force #2), you are supposed to inform the police force you are applying to about ANY changes in the information you gave them upon application as it comes up (ie- applying to a different force).

Just my 2 cents, but I think you should tell them about your deferral with the other force. They will likely find out anyway. But, if they didn't find out that info directly from you, they might think you are hiding something. I would hate to see something so trivial stand in your way.
