I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A PRACTICE FACILITY IN WINDSOR FOR THE CIRCUIT TEST... OR DO THEY GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO AT LEAST GET A FEEL FOR THE WEIGHT MACHINES?
THANK YOU DAWN

WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
:D

They gave us 15 minutes to try the machines.

The arm restraint simulator is simple, you need a strong grip and have to move about 35 pounds with one arm. You can practice that with free weights or in the gym.

The body restraint simulator is a bit tricky. It is a combination of strength and keeping the balance. The showed us what to do and gave us some good tips how to work that machine. If you follow the tips it is not to hard. How to simulate that one in the gym is shown on the ATS or OPP website, both have information postet how to prepare for the PREP.

Good luck,

Jan

During my PREP test most everybody had trouble with the dummy drag. At the test they will say you don't have to run that hard to finish it, and typically you don't so long as the dummy drag goes good. As a tip i would say do the coarse as fast as possible and then you have lots of time to drag the dummy. Many people drop it or stop to catch their breath, and positioning it perfect at the end can be hard. The dummy drag is last so try to get their with some extra time, you will need it.

I wouldn't go fast at any point... Keep a comfortable steady pace. U don't need to get it done in the fastest time possible. All you are looking for is a pass, which is under 2min 42 secs. I just completed it March 28th to keep my COR valid until I walk into PPC on the 30th. My completion time was 2min 30sec. I went first and the Sgt. asked if he could tell the others what my time was and that they should simulate that pace as it was a good one. I wasn't tired at the end of it and when dragging th dummy...I walked with it.

One thing to the dummy-drag. (i am kind of experienced, failed the PREP the first time :D ), the legs are in fact the problem. What helped me a lot to pass the PREP the second time, was to work on my leg-strength. Every workout for your legs will help you during the curcuit.

At the first time I finished the curcuit in time, but man, I was done..... not enough left for the shuttle run.

The second time, due to more strength in the legs, I felt pretty OK after the curcuit, and did the shuttle run no problem.
