Hi guys,
About a year ago, I was going through ?court officer? process with the Toronto Police, as far as I know I passed the interview and they were doing an initial background. Three weeks later, I got a letter stating how my file would not be processed any further and I could never apply with Toronto Police again. I tried to ask them for a reason, they never gave me one. I was never in trouble with the law. I don?t know why it happened. I had R9 on my credit rating, but I told them I was a victim of fraud (which is the truth). Would this affect my chances with other police services? Am I wasting my money and time trying to apply with other police services as a Police Officer?

Do you have any skeletons in your closet that you thought they wouldn't find, but they did anyway?

Aside from police-related stuff, do you have anything to hide? Like lying to someone in position of power on a regular basis, being dishonest, etc... Can you think of anything?

For this to happen - they would have had to catch you on a lie - either with something that you said - or something in your past that you are over-looking.

Just my opinion................

i did not lie as far as i know. I might have over looked couple of things, like one of my old addresses. But banning me for life because i over looked that is unbelievable. Did this happen to anyone? Or did you guys hear of anything like this? Am i the only person this happend to? All they have to do is call me up and ask me i would have cleard it for them.

Just an idea and I don't mean to worry you but have you ever been a victim of identity theft or is it a possibility now? It happened to a friend and they ran up a huge credit card bill before he ever knew and applied for things that he only found out about later and he had to spend ages proving it wasn't him. I know this has sometimes been a problem for people when it comes to getting credit etc... I just thought I'd mention it as a possibility as you seem so sure there is nothing you were concealing.

Alternatively, do you think someone might have written you a bad reference? Just some ideas - sorry, not very nice either of them but then you're not in a very nice situation at present!
