hi,
thanks for your reply, was beginning to think that no one is victoria was using this website for help.
sat the test, went well on all areas I feel. Was a bit rushed on the math part as it did not feel like 15 minutes. so i dont really know how well i did in the math section. If worst comes to worst, ill resit the math portion.
the tests are always different, they have about 13 different ones so you dont know which one you'll get on the day.
have you sat the test before? how do you think you will go? If I dont pass any of the units this time round, ill resit the ones I fail and will have a better understanding of the sections.

Hi Steve,
Just wondering how you got on with the test? all went well I hope. I'm also from Melbourne and planning to sit the exam in a couple of weeks, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it all.
So off for an interview at your local station next? I'd be very interested to hear how that goes too.
Best of luck with it all.
Paul.

hi paul good to hear from you. the exam went ok, not too sure about the maths but if worst comes to worst ill just sit it again. i should find out this week if i passed or not and then get my application. so where are you from? what do u do for a living at tghe moment? are you using the police prep site alot?
letme know..thanks steve
Hi Steve,
I Live out in Hoppers Crossing (western suburbs), at the moment I'm running a small screen printing business, I do things like band merchandise, uniforms that sort of thing. How about yourself?
I have been using the police prep website quite a bit over the last week, it's showed me how much I had forgotten, especially in terms of basic maths - couldn't remember how to do long division for the life of me!
I'm feeling pretty confident about the initial exam, and I'm fairly fit so I'm not too concerned about getting through the fitness test, if I make it that far, but I'm pretty nervous about the interviews, I'm only 21 and not sure if I'm going to have enough \"life experience\". But hopefully having worked a few jobs over the years and a couple of years of being self employed will be enough to get me through.
So how far in advance did you have to book in for the exam? I'm planning to call today and book in, been doing ok on the practice exams so I think I'm ready to go, hopefully I won't have to wait too long.

hey paul,
im currently working for the department of justice. Im 25 and have had lots of life experience. I work closely now with the police and know alot of them at the stations I'll be going for my interviews. I hope i did well on my math's test. I should get my results in the next week or so.
im out in bentleigh, EAST,
i called about 4 weeks in advance for the test to give me enough time to study and use the police prep website. and 4 weeks was alot of time to study and do all the tests.

Hi Steve,
Sounds like you're in a pretty good position to make the leap into a police career, having worked with the police and knowing a few of them should give you a handy advantage when it comes to the interviews, hope it all goes well.
I've just booked in for the exam, going on the 15th of October, so just a few weeks away, should be plenty of time to study. My hope is that if I score really well on the exam then the fact that I'm pretty young won't hurt my chances too much, time will tell. I had a chat to the Recruitment services people and they said that 21 would be fine as long as I had some experience working full time, which I do.
Let me know when your results arrive, I'll be keen to hear how you went - and good luck with the maths component!
