Hi All,
I did the PATI and WCT on Saturday, to say the least it was an eye opener, I have been doing the tests on this site and felt that the test Saturday was at a whole different level, I am pretty sure that I failed it.
The advice I would give anyone going for the test is as follows:-
The PATI test is 90 questions in 90 minutes, by the time you have been working solidly for an hour your brain is fried and you are not at your best, so what I would suggest is look through your answer paper for your weakest subject and go at this first (the answer sheet is laid out in the different subjects so it is easy to navigate) , then in turn to your next weakest and so on, I had my weakest subject towards the end of the test and by that time was just stabbing in the dark. Be very careful with the block working I thought that this was one of my strongest subjects working on the tests here but on the actual test I am pretty sure that I crashed and burned on this subject.
The WCT tests on this site will prepare you pretty well, but get someone to write stuff out that really pushes you, read the police reports in your local news paper these are written for the press by police officers.
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me, I will be more than happy to help.
Good Luck
Matt

hey matt,

sorry to hear about your estimated results. what type of marks were you getting on the practise PATI questions? also, what is your educational background like?

I did the test on Sat too and I have to say I am a little disapointed. I was scoring between 73.61 and 91.67% on the tests on here and was feeling confident going in but left Sat not sure if I even passed.

Now I have to wait 10 days to find out.. :(

Dave,
On the first time around on the tests I scored between 69% and 76% when I was doing them a second time around I was scoring in the 90% I really thought that I had it in the bag. My education level is all in British I am afraid but I have equivilant of a three year diploma plus other bits and bobs.

It is good to hear from someone else who was there, although I hope for both our sakes that we have passed, good luck to you.

Matt41, when I did my PATI it was 72 questions in 74min. I tested with the O.P.P. Who did you test with? Having to wait for the results would be tough. I found out an hour later after I did the test.
So if you guys never passed, are you's going to request your money back from Policeprep.com?

Hi Sandwich,
We tested with ATS. About requesting the money back, if I have failed I will be going that way, for sure. I hope it doesn't come to that though.

Hey..

(I'm the Guest guy who also did the test on Sat and was disapointed.)

I'm trying not too think about what I would do if I fail. I'm trying to be optimistic.

Good luck to you too matt.

Guess we'll see what happens soon enough.

Wow Matt. That is really discouraging. I have been working on these examples every day because my math is to be desired. I wonder if the testing has been changed since the guys configured questions on this site. I presumed it was close but what you are saying doesnt sound like it anymore.
I truly hope you did well. Thanks so much for the info. Anything else you can remember please take the time to post if you will.
Regards
Bonnie

It's amazing that some guys pass all tests the first time and others don't.
I have to wait to re-test in January, so I have 5 months to prepare. It's a long time to wait. keep us updated with your results guys.

Don't hold your breathe about "getting your money" I never did.The bottom line was "if you don't pass you will get a refund.I was more than willing to show my test score. But was not offered any refund, just a discount. As far a tests go,I feel the B.C. version (provincial) was NOT even close to what I wrote.I mentioned this in a e-mail, but I really don't think it has changed.Too bad for me I guess.

Hey,

Just wanted to update you guys. I got the results today and I have met standard for all the tests. So that is good news.

Although I left the test not sure if I passed I know that without police prep I would have failed.

Anyway! Off to the BPAD..

Hey All

I tried the original Patti test in Dec/03 have missed it by 6 marks. I worked it out and the score out of 75 questions to pass would have been 40 out of 75. However the new test is scored higher and more questions according to my OPP recruiter. I have been working with a Math tutoring for the last month and just joined with PolicePrep. What I have been reading is a little scary regarding how useful this site will be and the money back guarentee. Does anyone know for sure what the pass marked is out of 90 questions???Sure would help me to focus. I write again the end of September but may take more time, as my math is lousy.

I did the new PATI test last month and I'm guessing they are requiring a high mark to pass. I'm sure I got more than half right and still failed. I got my letter of proof of writing the test last week from the head office in Orillia, and it does not state what your marks were, what they require in a score for one to pass, nothing. All it stated was that I was not successful in both tests, that's it. You are on your own with these tests, with the O.P.P at least. I'm getting a tutor too for my math and studding here too till my re-testing in Jan.
