Hey there....does anybody know about the special constable positions? What do you need to apply with? Do you still need to pass the tests?
thanks

You can do the testing from here.

Actually, I am a Special Constable. I don't think you have to take the fitness, but as far as I know, you must take a pati, interview, and the background check.
Which force are you looking to get on?

I would call the force that you are looking at applying too. If you have your O.A.C.P. Certificate then they will in some cases (depending on the force) honour that for the testing.
I have a friend that is a Special Constable and he loves his job. Better pay then newer LEO's without the responsibility.
Best of Luck...............

OTU MEANS: OFFENDER TRANSPORTATION UNIT
I recently have been talking to a few otu constables and they are not shutting down in fact they are revamping the whole thing- to make it better. Benefits, pension...those things.

I know, anybody I've talked to with OTU says the same, but regular members say they're going to be shut down because the cost is far too high. Ah well
the staff in charge of the units hiring is at whitby detachment right now and wont be returning till february so there wont be any movement till then.....so youll have to be patient...
