View Full Version : Have you applied to any other services?

All of these applications pose that question: "Have you applied to any other services?"

I have a couple questions about that question...

(1) If you are applying for a Constable position, would you be expected to include a service that you've applied to for Cadet?

(2) Are you expected to include services that you are currently applying to, or strictly services you've applied to previously? So for example, I plan to fire off three applications on the exact same day... So, would I need to mention each of those services in each of those applications, even though technically none of them would be "previous"?

Thanks guys.

I included my application as a cadet a number of years ago, and that it was no longer active. I would include all three services on each application, and assume they are all active. Easier than them finding that you left it out. Openness, transparency, and integrity. Speaks for itself, right?

Good point... They probably wouldn't be too impressed if they thought I was intentionally deceiving them. I'll list all services just to be safe.

By the way 26point2, did you include a cover letter for your application to OPP? I was thinking of doing so... But then, it isn't specifically requested. So I'm thinking maybe they'd look at it and say "So this guy included something we didn't ask for - obviously he doesn't know how to follow instructions."

What's your take on that?

No, I didn't include a cover letter, or resume. Just filled out the application, went over the checklist. When I got the pre-interview forms, same thing, I filled out the forms, and made photocopies of the documents they requested. I think you're on the right track, follow instructions perfectly. Good Luck!

Okay, cool. I'll just keep it simple and follow the instructions exactly as outlined. Thanks for the help once again.
