Math question

Having an issue trying to figure out this algebra question

2(5x - 10) = -80


Little weak in this area :(

So, here goes:

Distributive property the left side

10x - 20 = -80

Add 20 to both sides

10x = -60

Divide both sides by 10

x = -6

That work for ya?

Or you could start with dividing both sides by 2

5x - 10 = -40

Then add 10 to both sides

5x = -30

Divide both sides by 5

x = -6

Algebra is simplified when you treat both sides of the equation the same.
