Late Night Snooze

While working night shift, very late (early morning) you repeatedly hear the dispatcher trying to reach another officer assigned to another car. The officer does not respond. You are confident that the officer is taking a quick snooze with his vehicle parked in a safe spot and are quite certain you know where he is, but are too busy handling a call to respond directly. There are two other patrol cars and a road sergeant working that night. What would you do in this situation?

This can be answered in several ways just as anything else but the word confident is different from a fact and it should not be based on asumption and should be investigated either way. If there is no response when the dispatcher attempts communication; one of the primary duties of the dispatcher is to track all service vehicles and two way communication; at that moment, an available unit will be dispatched to investigate the break in communication. I would relay what ever information I may have to the dispatcher so best efforts in a timely manner can be made to locate the officer who may very well be in distress or may not be in distress.
