I had my interview in Jan. and still waiting. Is anyone in the same boat.

i had my interview in jan heard from my BGI next day.......just waiting for the yes or no now

you should really re-apply dude.........when you go in tell them you have an active file and that will get you your answer as well as show some persistance with toronto

I did my interview Feb 2nd....havent heard a thing since, I passed and did my Psych on the 25th of feb

Ok One question for all people in background at Metro:

WHY ARE WE ALL IN BACKGROUND STAGE FOR WEEKS ALREADY AND NONE OF US HAVE HAD THEIR REFERENCES CONTACTED??????????

What is going on up there i wonder..... Deadline is coming up......
April 14th Bicks college starts..... for two weeks then Alymer.....

By this point - I hate to say it, but you may be looking at the Fall session.

I know that Ottawa has stopped calling people because they really need 2 weeks before to get organized ... you still have the medical to do and size everyone up for uniforms.

Hope I'm wrong - it's just a thought

There were only 18 who signed yesterday, and I thought I heard only 60 signed to date. Be patient. I was hearing different waiting times from everyone who signed yesterday. Sounds like a few of them completed/started the process last winter ( I was processed quickly though)....so whoever said it above may be right...you may be waiting for the fall class.

Ya, I haven't even had my first interview with them. I wonder when they are going to start Interviewing for that OPC date

i was talking to my recruiter on monday or tuesday for TPS and he said that he will be checking my refernces starting next week. i have not done the medical or psych test as of yet. that would take a day or two. this is where i am at with tps. like i said b4 my buddy is completing opc next week and he said they hire well into after the class starts and the next opc class is not till may. don't forget you have 2 weeks at bick first. :D

its been 2 weeks since I submitted my application to TPS and no call I guess they are really busy doing backgrounds on everyone for the May class, anybody in the same boat? anybody getting any interviews lately?

I just called my background officer and asked him hows my status on my backgrund check (TPS) and he says to me that he doesnt have my file anymore, that his staff seargant does. and that i should call recruiting to find out what status im at....

what a prick how rude..... im confused..

im screened out right?

if you didnt get a home visit I would be concerned

I though the Staff looks it over before your background begins...I wouldnt worry about it to much, if you dont have a letter then you are still in the process, keep your head up and dont worry about it. It will happen

The staff looks your file (everything from your resume, to interview to background) over for approval to be moved on to the next stage (psych). So your background has probably been completed. At this point they will either move you on to the psych (very promising, cause they have to pay for you to see the psychologist), or reject your file.

But guys my references havent been called yet!!!! I didnt get a home visit!!!!!! how can they complete my file or process if references havent been called? no way..

i already written psych test. im waiting for clear back ground to go see psych doctor.

im freakingout over here man, its been 7 weeks so far and now this!!!!!!! ohhh man i have no idea what to think

Just to let you all know, they generally don't make an offer of employment to successful candidates until really close to starting at CO Bick. They do this because once you sign that offer you are considered a member of TPS. If you go out and celebrate and get into a fight, and it gets out that you are a new recruit it would cause a lot of negative pubilicty for TPS.

Hope this helps those of you who have made it to this stage. For the rest of us, be patient, I know it is difficult to do when you are dealing with your future here but, Police Constables will always be in high demand, today, tommorow, and every day after that.
