Does anyone know if each Policing Service sets out a quota for the number of men vs women that they put through?

There is no service that I am aware of that has a quota for female hires, or any other identifiable group.

Exactly as stated! you would be very suprised! female, race and colour are all taken into consideration. key word \"Diversity\"

Taking minority status into consideration is very different from having a quota. Yes, every service in Canada is trying to hire more women and minorities, but they don't have a system set up to hire 11 Women, 4 Asians, 5 Africans, 6 Hispanics, 4 Natives, and 2 White guys.

Big Guy, I understand what you're saying. I didn't mean to suggest anything as specific as that. I was just wondering if they were trying to save \"x\" amount of spaces for women recruits.

opsgirl: I don't think any force could set a specific number for females. The service is alotted a specific number of spaces at OPC - to hold a certain amount for females would not serve the service ... especially with such a low number of females passing the PREP and moving on to the interview stage...

Jenn, were you successful your first time passing the PREP?

Yep, sure was ... I was lucky enough to be able to do a practice run before the test date and found out what I needed to work on.
