    P.A.T.I. help

Would anybody be interested tutoring me on the pati test. It seems that i passed 4 out of the 6 components, so i need help with the Time travel section and word problem section, my biggest concern is the time travel because when i called ATS the operator told me that i did not bad on the word problems, but I got caught on the time travel. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Did you practice the PolicePrep tests?

yes I have police prep, I studied for 3 months but I don't think the time travel section was any help for me, the other sections were great.

I found it helped if I made a \"tick\" mark on the rough note paper each time I moved to a new block. This way I kept track of how many blocks I moved.

If a set of blocks were some how obstructed I would create a unique mark on the blocks for each question to identify that this block is obstructed in some way. The unique mark would remind me to either not go near it or use the means that can travel through it.

I thought you passed on an overall mark, not just sections?

I think your graded on sections. When I did my time travel section I drew the grid on the scrap piece of paper they gave out. This way you can mark it up if you need to

I was just going to suggest that...

...when I practice the time travel, i draw a little diagram. This way, if a road is blocked by traffic or whatever, you can draw a line in and visualize it; makes it MUCH easier, and it really doesn't take long to sketch it out since you have a minute per question.

Some of the time travel you can do in your head...........for instance there is a question on there that state \" You have to walk 5 blocks....how long will it take you to walk there\" So if walking takes 3 min per block DUH 5x3=15

I am really curious when they sent you your sheet with what you need to work on did it give you practice tips in anything other then TIME TRAVEL and WORD PROBLEMS, or are you just going on what they said over the phone. Everyone always wondering if the PATI is marked by an overall mark or section. If your sheet says you need practice on those two then it probably could be sections, but im wondering if the guy on the phone just told you those two because those are the areas you need the most work on, and the sheet says those areas plus others. its important because you don't want to take it again and neglect other areas you can improve on. Anyway if your sheet says other areas as well its probably an overall mark, and the guy was just saying those two areas need the most work. Personally I think its an overall mark because I asked one time after the test and the guy said there is a passing score, I took that as one critieria used. Anyway im really interested in what the sheet they sent you says if you dont mind posting a response.

    Thanks

It's an overall score. That's not a guess. 100% overall score.

If you fail they will tell you the sections that you need work on.

It's that simple. It's one piece of paper that says you didn't succeed and the areas you need to work on.

    Hope that helps.
