    MAPPING QUESTION

    There is construction on the roads B - N which prevent any cars from crossing. Using any combination you wish without using the same means twice, what is the fastest time it would take you to travel from H to A and then to O?;

    CAR = 2 MIN
    BIKE = 2 MIN 20 SEC
    FOOT = 3 MIN 20 SEC

    I keep getting 20 min 20 sec? The actual answer is 20 min flat? Am I wrong???

    Any help appreciated

    When I come up to 20min flat, it pretty much takes away the rule of not using the same mean twice.

    What I did to come to 20 min is:

    Bike H - A = 9min 20 sec
    Drive A - M = 6 min
    Bike M - o = 4 min 40 sec

    Total: 20 min ( but using bike twice ) :?

    Yea. But when you look at the solution it shows that they used the Car once and the Bike the rest of the way. Might be an error in the answer. Unless I'm doing it worng?

    Car:
    H-D-C-B = 3 STEPS x 2 MIN = 6 MIN

    Bike:
    B-A-E-I-M-N-O = 6 STEPS x 2 MIN 20 SEC = 13.20

    TOTAL = 13.20 + 6 = 19.20???

    How is it 20min?

    Am i doing something wrong????

    Thanks!!

    You have multiplied incorrectly....

    6x2min 20sec= 14min

    you have to remeber that there are 60sec in a min.

    6x2min=12min
    6x20sec=120sec=2min
    12min+2min=14min.
