DURHAM ECI Interview

Hey everyone,

I have my ECI next week. Im very nervous about it, I passed my LFI's with three other forces in past 4 weeks, and this is my first ECI ever.(my first out of 3 this month) I heard that with a valid sucesful ECI most forces will accept it as well.

Anyway, to people who have done ECI with DUrham, can i get any feedback on it please????

How many examples did they ask of you per each competency????
How long was interview in hours?????
What is pass\\fail rate at Durham for ECI???
Were they hard on you or no??????
Besides knowing 5 standard ECI competencies, what else was asked of you?????????

When I spoke to others the Durham ECI was conducted like the Ottawa one. Anyway, I can tell you what I know - maybe it will help ...
1. They only wanted 1 sample for each competency - but be ready with a back up (or more). They will ask you to give a brief snap shot of the example, and if they don't like it - you will have to go with another one.
2. The interview is governed by you. If it takes you 4 hours to go through your examples, then it will go 4 hours. From everyone that I have spoken to they are averaging 2 1/2 -3 hours.
3. As for the pass/fail rate - from the LFI to the psycho test - 100 LFI and only 20 at the psycho test - that speak volumes!!
4. My interviewers were great - they really tried to help you out. One chap that went through Durham said the same thing, I guess it depends (hope you get a good panel).
5. Besides the 5 competencies they asked ... NOTHING. They stuck to the competencies 100%.

All I can say - is know yourself, know the competencies and have a few examples for each and you will do fine.... hope this helps.
