Very few mate. The main thing to remember about the Wonderlic is that if you can't figure out the answer or at least how to work it out in a few couple of seconds - skip over it! Don't get frustrated on single questions. Should look at around 20 seconds per question.

The moral is do the ones you are confident with and skip those that you are not.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Quickie,

Not that many, all I can say is just keep doing practice wonderlic exams. It really does help practicing. I even found some of the questions I did in preparation were on the exam. If your stuck don't sit on a question, move onto the next. The only other exam you could really prepare for is the written one. Just make sure you set it in paragraphs, watch your punctuation, use appropriate capitals and add a conclusion. Best of luck mate. I'm just waiting now everything is done!

haha i think that response was directed at me. just another question regarding the written test, how is it done these days? is it in a form were you are given information say on a traffic trash an you need to prepair a report on it or is it more along the lines of you are given a question such as "why do you want to be a police officer?" and you need to write a response to it. iv heard a few different things from different people so im abit lost on it.

if any one could shed some light on it that would be great an help me along with my preparation

    cheers

Its normally on an interview type of question eg. what are your strengths and how would it help as a police officer in the qps (my question was along those lines) and why do you want to be a police officer etc. I wouldnt worry about it too much ... Its pretty straight forward. I didn't do paragraphs etc and still passed it fine. I think they're mainly looking at spelling / sentence structure etc.

    Hey everyone!

I'm in the same boat as Michael (bowds13), i have my testing on the 19th April and interview on the 24th of April!
And i must say definitely stressing out, i think more to do so regarding the interview at this stage! I'm currently in NSW so looking forward to moving back to QLD, especially if its following my lifetime career goal! Does anyone know how long it takes after the interview to find out how you went? I don't really want to receive a letter in the mail saying "unfortunately we regret to inform you....", especially waiting for some sort of update!

How did everyone find the interview? was it hard in any way?

Also i meant to ask, hopefully im not too much of a pain in everyone's backside! I know they said you can take notes in etc... is that really the case or are they notes from the first 40minutes preparation? only because i have knocked up some key points to help me remember in the interview in response to the ESC and KSC's.

GarthCanty - I was only allowed to take in the notes i wrote down during my 40mins prep. I also had some notes that i prepared before the interview but wasn't allowed to refer to them. Had to keep them in my bag.

Hayles- oh really! Thanks for letting me know! What about taking your notes into the 40min prep!
So what can you make reference to? If anything?

Yes you can take your personal notes into the 40mins prep room and pigeon your notes onto the prep notes if relevant.

As far as the interview merit rating is concerned you will not get the rating until everything is processed unless you fail the interview which is a lockout of a year. Candidates that I know that failed the interview received either an email correspondence or a phone call within two weeks after the interview date.

The interview is hard if you don't prepare. If you prepare (at least two weeks) before the date you should be fine. Go through the ESC and KSC as you have done and try to relate it to situations in your own life. They want to see that you understand the question, give an answer in relation and also relate.

Unfortunately it is a waiting game!

    Hope that helps.
