Yes you can take your personal notes into the 40mins prep room and pigeon your notes onto the prep notes if relevant.

As far as the interview merit rating is concerned you will not get the rating until everything is processed unless you fail the interview which is a lockout of a year. Candidates that I know that failed the interview received either an email correspondence or a phone call within two weeks after the interview date.

The interview is hard if you don't prepare. If you prepare (at least two weeks) before the date you should be fine. Go through the ESC and KSC as you have done and try to relate it to situations in your own life. They want to see that you understand the question, give an answer in relation and also relate.

Unfortunately it is a waiting game!

Well...I have completed my application form and am handing it in to the recuting centre in the CBD tomorrow at lunch.

Fingers crossed! I have a huge hurdle to get in, so we'll see how it goes...

Yes mate April 10. My orientation night is tomorrow. I'm still buzzed after getting the call on February 24th! I've had my application in since June 2011 so it's been a long time coming!

If you ever thought about joining the Queensland Police Service, this is the year you should throw an application in. The road is long for some but the reward is a great stable career with heaps of variety. I am happy to offer advice if need be.

As long as your at your peak fitness, have all your affairs in order and don't mind being transferred to anywhere in Queensland, then go for it!

Well...just handed the application in.

Heard a senior seargent telling a potential applicant that they had just finished a massive audit.

The girl on the desk checked over my application and said I should hear something back via e-mail by mid to late next week. Maybe they are slamming them through now?

They cut down on the time applications stay with integrity. Some candidates who have been accepted in the April '12 intake have only had their application lodged for 6 to 8 weeks.

i posted my application about 2 weeks befor xmas and it took about 4 weeks till i heard back from them for the first time. if they are speeding it up that sounds great for furture applicants.

on another note iv got abit of a question about the interviews. what exactly are they looking for in your response? like are they after an indepth response as to how you believe you meet each ksc or are they after examples of how you have demostrated these abilities. my problem being im only 22 and cant say iv had much life experiance since finishing school an studying and what not. at the moment im finding it hard to come up with ways i can demostrate the kcs's or give good examples of them. im abit concerned i wont be able to demostrate what they are after on the day.

any help would be great

Hi Michael

Unfortunately you need to provide answers relevant to the questions and be able to relate to each one of them. We have a few successful applicants both males and females in the April '12 intake that are only 21. Do you have any volunteer experience i.e SES, St Johns, Drug Arm etc? Volunteering your time to help others is a good way to improve the life experience aspect. What is your history after schooling?
