Scenario 3: Dog Bite

Doug has had Murdoch for 5 years. The owner was walking his dog toward the leash free area. Kelly Jones was celebrating her 8th birthday. The birthday party was at the children's play area, supervised by Kelly's parents. There was a hot dog stand on the other side of the children's play area. Doug was startled when the dog took off, and lost control of the leash. Murdoch is the Jack Russel. There were 6 cars in the parking lot just the other side of the children's play area. The children's birthday party started at 1:00 pm. Winston weighs 90 lbs and Murdoch weighs 40 lbs. Doug McDonald enjoys walking in the park. Murdoch bit Kelly once before he was restrained by the owner. The ambulance took the victim to the hospital and she was treated and released. Authorities from the Humane Society ordered the dog to be kept at home for 72 hours for observation. The dog has no history of violence on file. There was a doberman at the park named Winston. The incident occurred on Friday July 6. There was a baseball game occurring in the park. The incident occurred one hour after the party started. In the hospital waiting room Janet's leg was treated and Kelly's right forearm was tended to. The police canvassed Belwoods park for witnesses to the event.

Its owner, Doug McDonald, was walking the dog when it broke free and ran across the park to bite the victim in the right arm.
